Abstract
from the results of present of the present work, it could be concluded that: There might be an inverse correlation between BCL2 staining index versus both MEC grades and MEC score according to the AFIP. Low grade MEC might have high expression of BCL2. Intermediate grade MEC might have variable expression of BCL2. High grade MEC might have less expression of BCL2. The high BCL2 expression in association with minimal anaplasia and interacystic space >20% might indicate a tumor of MEC at an earlier stage of its progression. The least BCL2 expression together with severe anaplsia and minimal intracytic space (<20%) might indicate that the MEC tumor is in its late stage of malignancy. The positive expression of Bcl2 detected in epidermoid, intermediate, and columnar cells could be due to the contribution of these cells in the slow progression of the tumor grade.
