Abstract Results : 1. OCT can be used for early diagnosis and follow up of primary open angle glaucoma. 2. The most significant potential use of HRT is recognizing progression of glaucomatous damage rather than diagnosing glaucoma. 3. A high correlation was found between OCT and HRT instruments in diagnosis of glaucoma. The Stratus OCT and HRT II overall classifications agreed in 81% of cases. 4. All stereometric parameters of ONH except rim volume were found to be higher by OCT than HRT. 5. Optical coherence tomography offered the advantage of automated determination of the disc margin. Conclusion : OCT can be used for early diagnosis and follow up of primary open angle glaucoma. While the most significant potential use of HRT is recognizing progression of glaucomatous damage rather than diagnosing glaucoma. |
