Abstract the thesis is a comprehensive study on the gamma - rays emitted from different natural as well as artificial radioactive isotopes. in chapter (4) a study of some egyptian building materials is present; chapter (5) includes the investigation of the gamma rays emitted from: - two iron slag samples. - three samples from the standard reference material (srm)-jbi. - a sample from an egyptian gold-ore. those samples have been irradiated by neutrons from the two egyptian research reactors (et-rr-1 and et-rr-2), and from the californium-252 isotopic neutron irradiation cell. the interferences in chromium determination caused by the 54 fe and 147 nd isotopes were removed. the determination of platinum apart from 199au isotope in presence of gold and calcium was also given. a quality testing for using the (srm jbi) in neutron activation analysis was done. the thermal and epithermal-neutron flux distribution curves in the 252cf irradiation cell were given. a set of fortran computer programs for gamma - ray spectra analysis were constructed |
