Abstract

Pesticides used extensively in last years and misuse of pesticides lead to pollution of environment, affect on human and animal health and lead to appearance of recent diseases as renal failure, liver cirrhosis and liver cancer .160 Rats of both sex divided into eight groups, The first three groups intubated orally with dimethoate at doses of 1/10, 1/20, 1/40 of LD50 (26, 13, 6.5 mg/kg b.w.) while the fourth, fifth and sixth groups intubated with mancozeb at doses of 1/10, 1/20, 1/40 of LD50 LD50 (214.4, 107. and 53.6 mg/kg b.w.)for twenty weeks. The seventh group intubated with distal water as control group for the first three groups but the eighth group intubated with dimethylsulphoxide as control group for fourth, fifth and sixth groups. After twenty weeks rat sacrificed and determination of some biomarkers as gamma glutamiyl transferase, aminotransferase , urea, glucose , bilirubin and colestrol . Also detection of chromosomal aberrations in rats bone marrow and determination quantity of DNA and RNA in liver tissue. There was significant increase in gamma glutamiyl transferase, aspartate aminotransferase, urea , cholesrol, bilirubin and significant decrease serum glucose and alanine aminotransferase in rats intubated mancozeb while dimethoate had the same changes except non significant increase in gamma glutamiyl transferase in all groups compared with control one. Both compounds induced chromosomal aberrations in rats bone marrow cells and quantity of RNA in liver tissue. although mancozeb significant increase quantity of DNA in all groups, dimethoate only significant increase quantity of DNA in group 1 intubated with 1/10 of LD50 as compared with gontrol one.Both compound have toxic effect on liver and kidney and had mutagenic effect but mancozeb had a potent carcinogenic effects.
