Abstract
In the present investigation, new series of benzimidazole compounds that contain oxadiazole, phenyltriazole, thiazolidines and pyrmidines, were prepared. Also, fused benzimidazole rings were prepared such as triazinobenzimidazoles, pyrimidopyrolobenzimidazoles. The structures of these compounds were determined by elemental microanalysis, 1HNMR, IR and mass spectroscopy. All the newly synthesized final compounds were subjected to in vitro antimicrobial screening. The results showed that most of the compounds under test exhibited different degrees of antimicrobial activity. Nine compounds were subjected to antiviral and cytotoxicity assays.
