Abstract
This work was aimed to study the effect of different impression materials on surface roughness and plaque accumulation on maxillary denture fitting. Final impression was taken by hand & vacuum mixed alginate, zinc oxide eugenol and rubber base final impression materials. Surface roughness of gypsum master casts and maxillary denture fitting surface was investigated. Plaque accumulation and contents were studies by spectrophotometric assay. It was observed from the results that rubber base fluid impression provided dentures with minimal surface roughness and plaque accumulation.
