Abstract Benzopyran derivatives represent an important class of chemotherapeutic compounds in addition to their widespread occurrence in plants. Also benzopyran derivatives show a wide variety of applications as biological active compounds in medicine , bactericides and useful as antiphogistics, antipyretics and analgesics . It is well known that some benzopyran derivatives possess coronary vasodilating activity . Recently, benzopyran derivatives possess desirable altering activity . Also, benzopyran derivatives produced crosslinks in photoreaction with DNA. Thus the present work deals with several new reactions on some benzopyran derivatives to obtain more potent biological activity. So about 23 new compounds were synthesized using 1(1hydroxy2 naphthyl)ethanone by reaction with DMF/DMA and the structures are proved by IR , NMR and the elemental analysis. |
