Abstract
The present work was carried out to investigate variations in specific activity of certain lysoso- enzymes namely acid phosphatase, acid lipase and id oo-glucosidase in liver homogenates of alloxan- abetic,, thyrotoxi.0 and atherosclerotic rats. The study includes the following groups: roup I: Comprises 15 alloxan diabetic rate: Diabetes mellitus was experimentally induced by intraperitoneal injection of alloxan in a dose of 50 mg/Kg. body weight J guy II: Comprises 15 thyrotoxio rats: Thyrotoxioosis was induced by subcutaneous injection of L-thyroxine in a dose of 200 ,ug/lOO g body weight for 4 successive days cup III: Comprises 10 atherosclerotic rats: perimental atherosclerosis was induced in albino rate after 4 months of dietary regimen rich in cholesterol. ach of these groups was compared with the.normal cont- ol rats (n - 20).
