Abstract Ry AND CONCLUSION • • The aim of this work is to study the effect of pir¬oxicam , diclofenac sodium, proquazone and indomethacin on the kidney functions especially plasma clearence rate using cr.51 E.D.T.A. injection, as it is a sensitive test for early detection of kidney dysfunction. The material of the present stucW comprised 47 patients with various joint and musculoskeletal affections (34.1 % osteoarthritis, 23.2 % lumbar spondylosis, 19.1 % rheumatoid arthritis , 10.6 % diabetic arthropathy, 6.4 % cervical spondylosis, 2.2 % rheumatic myositis and 2.2 % dislocation of the shoulder) • The patients were 38 females and 9 males, with age mDge from 20 to 60 years. They were divided into 4 groups i according to the drug given : Patients reoeiving piroxioam : ... Cl) 20 mg/day orally for 10 days (10 cases) • B) 40 mg/day orally for 10 days (11 cases). Patients receiving diolotenac sodium 75 mg/day. |
