Abstract Aim of Wrok : The aim of the present work l Hli:,«,,,r , Is to study bilharzial oval pattern in rectal mucosal biopsies for patients with pure urinary bilharziasis 0 • To find out a dominant oval pattern being haematobium or mansoni that can presumably offer a value with respect to correlate this dominant pattern with some clinical findings in patients with urinary bilharziasis0 o To compare the distribution of ova in the different rec¬tal levels aiming at finding the best level for diagnosis* . As well as detecting active and inactive infection and to search for the possibility of associated intestinal bilharziasis so that the type of therapy can be properly chosen 0’ Summary of the Wrok of : The material of the present study comprised twenty five males with age ranging from 9-50 years with pure urinary bilharziasis diagnosed by demonstration of haematobium eggs in the urine . Cases with hepatosple-nic bilharziasis, bilharzial cor pulmonale, positive stools for bilharzia ova were excluded • The material of the present study was obtained from out patients clinics of Mansoura University Hospital • |
