Abstract
The ann of this work is to study the changes of RAAS with ing and the implication of essential hypertension on these changes, so, the implication of essential hypertension on some aspects of the thophyslologic process of aging. The study included 58 subjects, 34 subjects were old, with ean age (69) years, ranging [r01n 64 to 77 years. They were equally istributed into (17) old hypertensive subjects with Il1ean age (59.44) ears and (17) old normotensive. Subjects with mean age (69.22) years. The other 24 subjects ere young; with mean age (30.8) years, ranging froIn 23 to 38 ears. They were equally distributed into (12) young hypertensive ubjects with Inean age (30.8) and (12) nonnotensive subjects with lean age (30.8). No one was included in the nonnotensive group unless their blood pressure was 140/80 mmHg or below for those under 40 years or 150/90 or below for those over 64 years. The nonnotensive subjects and the essential hypertensive subjects were all in general good health, free of significant conc01nitant illness or therapy that influence blood pressure, PRA or aldosterone levels. The hypertensive patients had established unc01nplicated essential .
