Abstract

This work was carried out on two groups of adult male rats (A&B). Each group comprised twelve rats about 100 gm each. Animals of group (A) were used controls. Animals of group (B) were given adenine in food for four weeks in a dose of 350-400 mg from each group. the kidneys of three rats were after one week. two weeks. three weeks & four Paraffin sections were prepared and stained with and eosin.periodic acid schiff and alkaline (Gomori method). Frozen sections were also and stained to study the acid phosphatase enzyme. The kidney of albino rats consisted of one lobe which formed of cortex & medulla. The cortex was packed with of the proximal and distal convoluted tubules with the renal corpuscles and the collecting The medulla consisted of sections of the Henle’s the collecting .tubules. PAs reaction was strongly positive in the basement membranes of the whole uriniferous tubules of the control.
