Abstract
The present study aims to the investigation of the subsurface structures and to throw some light on the direction of the major structural elements in the studied area, using the potential field data (gravity and magnetic). Qualitatively, the analysis of the potential anomalies.according to their shapes and amplitudes reveals that : 1) The Bouguer anomalies are characterized by the presence of linear and closed anomalies of different polarities which couid be attributed to either structural break and / or denity variation. 2) The aeromagnetic map according to its anomaly shapes, spacing and trends can be divided into two zones which are quite different in the characteristic magnetic features.
