المستخلص

The research begins with a study on the Iranian scene at that time, and the effect it produced on Shamlou’s intellectual formation. The research is dedicated in its first section to study the political contradictions, the failure of the constitutional revolution and the coming of Reda Shah to the throne assisted by the English forces. Then it studies Shamlou’s birth and upbringing at the beginning of the late century. It explore too his separation with his family, then his turning to the study of literature unsystematically, his literary practice and then his being dedicated to literature totally starting with his studies on the Old Persia and the its folklore, through his own poetry that enabled him to express his views after the deposition of Reda Shah. The Second section deals with ”The Poetical Themes and Issues in the Divan”, through ”the issue of poetry and poets – the pursuit of truth – internal alienation – traveling – sadness, pessimism. Then it studies the ”Political and Social Issues” through ”sentimental obligation towards society- the crisis of the city and Shamlou’s suffering throughout his struggle. The third section deals with the ”Technical Structure of the Divan”. It is dedicated to the study of the ”Poetical Image in the Divan” through the study of ”the particular and universal images” and the ”dramatic structure of the poem” through narration and dialogue, as well as cinematic and musical arts in the poem. Then it movsses to the study of ”The Poetical Instruments in the Divan” through the study of the poetic diction of Shamlou, in this section, it discusses language (denotations and connotations- nature terminology- psyche-related terminology) as well as the poetic music in the divan. The research is appended by the most important conclusions reached.
