Abstract The aim of the present study IS to detect the prevalence of CHD in apparantly healthy adult male cigarette and to detect and evaluate any possible effect of cigarette smoking on exercise test comparing their response to exercise with normal non smokers as a control group. The materialof this study comprised 46 adult apparantly healthy males with age ranging from 20 to 40years, 33 of them were cigaret~e smokers as a test group and 13 of them were non smokers as a control group. All the subjects were selected to be capable of performing exercise test. All the subjects were subjected to full history taking,thorough examination and investigations including: urine and stool analysis, blood picture, total lipids, cholesterol, triglycerides, chest X-ray, pulmonary ventilatory function test, resting ECG, treadmill exercise test using Bruce protoco 1 .The results were analysed, tabulated and submited to the student T-test of significance and Chi-square test. |
