Abstract The purpose of this study is to evaluate the acute effects of captopril on the ECG in initial treatment of var¬ious grades of essential hypertension as well as its anti¬hypertensive potency and safety. Summary of The Work : The material of the present study comprised 50 patients with essential hypertension as a test group. 32 females, and 18 males with age ranging from 40 to 65 years (mean 53 years). Cases were selected from the out-patient olinic of oardiol¬ogy Mansoura University Hospital. Patients had either never received antihypertensive medications. or previously had all antihypertensive medications disoontinued at least 10 days before entry into the study. had evidence of congestive heart failure or angia. |
