Abstract
The effect of all variables which effect local scour depth and length downstream irrigation structures specially gate structures are investigated in this thesis. Experimental verification of the theoretical analysis of scour depth and length is presented. Effect of unit discharge (q) which flows under the sluice gate per unit length of opening width are investigated experimentally.
