The patients were assigned to two groups 10 patients each • In all patients anaesthesia was induced with 5 mg.kg1 - thiopentone Bodium followed by BUXQmethonium 1 mg.kg -1 Anaesthesia was maintained with 60% N20 in oxygen • After intubation and recovery from auxameth- 1 d t . . d I onium apnea, O. 5 mg.kg - ubocuraflne W98 Injecte .V. One group of the patients were given calcium gluconate 3 g. I.V. over 3 minutes before induct ion of anaesthesia Blood samples were ~ithdrawn from all patiante (5 ml each ) before induction and before dtc administration for determination of both total and ionized calcium concentrationa in serum. The blood pressure and pulse rate were measured preoperati vely before induction, after intubation by 3 minutes. |
