Abstract
The situation of the Suez Canal connecting two seas with dissimilar ecosstems gives it a unique biological interest. In spite of that, until the start of the present investigation, no particular work concerning the fouling communities in the Canal was done. As well, the western Harbour of Alexandria (W. H. A. ),in spite of being the main harbour of Egypt and one of the most impor-tant harbours in the Mediterranean, no studies on its fouling preceeded the present one.
