Abstract Hexamminecobalt(III) tricarbonatocobaltate(III) (HCTC) is a stable tervalent cobalt complex. In acid medium it releases free Co(III) ion and is thus capable of oxidising certain moieties embedded in pure pharmacodynamic molecules in situ. In this thesis, HCrC has been reapprai- ed in a study on certain pn~maceuticals, namely; phenoothiazines, antimony(III) compounds, reserpine and thioxannthenes. As a result; new titrimetric and fluorimetric methods for the semi and microdetermination of such compounds ere developed. Part 11: is devoted to the determination of phenothiazines; the detection of the end point was accommplished either visually or spectrophotometrically. In part Ill, HCrC was utilized for the potentiometric determiiion of some antimony(III) compounds. Part IV: is connith the fluorimetric determination of reserplne with Hcrc. In part V, the visual titration •oxanthene derivatives using Hcrc and ferroin in- is described. |
