This study explores the rural sub-cultures and the extent to which the immigrants from the countryside acquire urban cultures. Such a process is reflected in the residence place, the occupation, the housing facilities and other facets of masterialistic cultures. It shows less at the level of values, attitudes and other non-materialistic values. It is in this sense that most of these immigrants gather in certain areas (often at the suburbs of towns and cities) and form their own sub-culture within the urban framework in which they live. The basis of this study is that some rural immigrants move to the cities and try to form their own sub-cultures that bear great similarity with their original rural one. from this comes out the research question: ”What is the rural sub-culture?”. As for the methodology, the study has employed an approach to handle this topic qualitatively and quantitatively. So The study has relied on the descriptive analytical approach that allows us to use more than one method and tool for data collection. The Questionnaire has been employed through applying it on a specimen of three informants selected through the sociological specimen survey. This specimen represents nearly 10 percent of the whole population at the Gedeela Region, one of the slums at the edge of Mansoura City that represents a resort and shelter of condensed rual migrants to the city. Eight individual meetings have been held with eight informants, in addition to relying on observation and informers for data collection. Add to these the records, the photographs and consensuses available for the research area. Then followed the revision, classification and recording of the field materials as well as the statistical handling the results of the questionnaire depending on repetitions, percentages, and averages to measure some of the problems and suggestions; hence the significanc of individual meetings. The study has reached the following results: 1. the appearance of an ecological duality in the research community. This shows in the modern house versus the conventional one. The community of the research is more rural than urban. 2. the research specimen is a mixture of rural and urban population beside the original inhabitants.
