Abstract This is a retrospective evaluation of 58 patients with chronic non- complicated peptic ulcer disease, who were subjected to truncal vagotomy and drainage. There was no operative mortality. Relief of symptoms occurred in 46 patients. Ulcer recurrence was detected in 7 patients (12%), and all of them responded to the medical treatment. Early dumping occurred in 9 patients and none of them required surgical interference. Also, controllable diarrhea developed in 7% of cases.
