المستخلص The issue of violence against woman has become a universal case due to its human, social and health dimensions. It is a multidimensional, multi-objective and multi-consequence case. It has become a must for all the societies of that whole world, whether developed or developing owing to the rapidly increasing forms of violence against woman until it has become a daily activity of several people’s everyday life. This violence phenomenon against woman goes back to the her female nature so much that it has become a universal malady from which woman suffers wherever she goes world-wide, however different the forms of violence. However, this phenomenon has not gained its due interest and care although it is wide spread. It was only very recently that the feminist movement has called for a link between woman’s cases and causes and human rights. The present study aims at highlighting the diverse forms of violence against woman in one of the Egyptian villages with a view to achieving the following objectives. a - Pointing out the causes of violence against woman in rural communities. b - Highlighting the forms and consequences of violence against woman in rural communities. c - Approaching the legal protection granted to woman. d - Recognizing the role played by civil and governmental institutions for confronting this phenomenon in rural communities. Recommendations: Below are the most important recommendations of the present thesis: a - Exerting greater deals of effort on the part of the whole society in all its sects and classes for bringing to light woman’s positive role in the family as well as the whole society. This would be achieved through the participation of all the social, cultural and vocational institutions of society in a way that deals with males and females on equal footing at school, in the family and in the whole society. b - Increasing the awareness of woman’s rights for education, work and contribution to all aspects of economic and social development. c - Abolishing those legal articles in the law that discriminate between man and woman. d - Effecting legislations that guarantee woman’s protection against physical or mental violence whether in the family of in the society. e - Launching campaigns for increasing woman’s awareness of her legal rights through holding conferences and seminars in the mass media. |
