Abstract
Hydroxylation of benzene or toluene was investigated in micellar sustems in which cationic, nonionic or anionic surfactants were used. The surfactant is considered as one of the components of the micellar system. Hydrogen peroxide is the source of the hydroxy radical which is generated by using transition metal ions as catalyst.
