Abstract

The host plant variety had an effective role on the activity of the date palm insect pests and the ectoparasitoid Bracon hebetor Say. In IPM programs both parasitoids B. hebetor and Trichogramma evanescens (Westw.) can be use as biocontrol agents against Ephestia cautella Walker and Batrachedra amydraula Meyrick. Use of kairomone as olfactory chemical stimuli improves the efficiency (aggregation behavior) of the parasitoids under field conditions. The predacious mites, Cheyletid and Ascid species approved to be good predators against date palm insect pests in the field and store conditions. For the success of IPM program it is essential to know several biological aspects of the pest and their natural enemies.
