Abstract Faba bean is one of the most important food legume crops in Egypt . It is a major source of protein in human and animal nutrition. Chocolate spot disease caused by Botrytis fabae is a major disease affecting the crop causing serious damage to the plant and may reduce yields by at least 30-50% in a bad year. Trichoderma harzianum and mycorrhizal fungi were chosen in this study as safe and economic bio- control agents to control chocolate spot disease . The results indicated that, disease incidence and severity were significantly reduced . On contrast, the chlorophyll content, carbohydrates, total protein and phenol, phosphorous, nitrogen and proline contents in addition to growth parameters and yield attributed were significantly increased in plants treated with the bio-control agents as compared to the non-treated plants. |
