Abstract

Wound infection is still an important cause ot morDiaimy and mortality. Pathogens causing wound infections are derived from exogenous and endogenous environment. The aim of this study was the isolation and identification of the predominant wound pathogens, their species and anti-microbial sensitivity in the locality. The present study comprised 212 cases suffering from wound infection in different sites of the body. Specimens were taken by sterile swabs and sterile syringes and were inoculated into nutrient agar, blood agar, MacConkey’s media, sabouraud agar, and thioglycollate broth (for anaerobes.
