Abstract Cupping refers to an ancient practice in which a cup is applied to the skin and the pressure inside the cup is reduced (by using change in heat or by suctioning out air ) so that the skin and the superfacial layer is drawn into and held into the cup. Much of the cupping equipments and methods used today are exactly the same as they were in ancient times there are just few exceptions ,where for example electronic, electrical or mechanized suction pumps have been introduced, but to a great extent the majority of people practicing cupping today still use horn, bamboo or glass cups. There are 10 different types of cupping therapy: 1- weak(light ) cupping. 2- medium cupping. 3- strong cupping. 4-moving cupping. 5- needle cupping. 6-moxa (hot needle ) cupping. 7-empty(flash ) cupping. 8-herbal cupping. 9-full (bleeding) cupping. 10-water cupping. |
