Abstract
the iris is a an ocular smooth muscle which functions as a delicate and moveable diaphragm between the anterior and chambers of the eye to regulate the amount of lightwhich enters the eye thriugh the pupil. anatomically, the iris is composed of two opposing muscles with reciprocal innervation.
