Abstract This thesis introduces a 3-D analytical model for the Suez Canal Cable-Stayed Bridge to investigate the very complex behavior of this type of bridges due to static and dynamic loads using the Sap2000 program for structural analysis that provides big facilities for building the models beside efficiency, high speed in performing such analysis, and displaying results. The proposed model closely simulates elements, since it permits introducing many parameters such as cross section variation of tower and deck, pretension and sag in cables, also type of bearing used between towers and deck which highly affect the bridge seismic response. Great interest is taken for the effect of live loads, material and geometric nonlinearities, cable sag, yet the tremendous results to discuss the bridge seismic response. |
