Abstract The widespread use of piperazine and its salts, in the treatment of worm infections, makes it desirable to search for a convenient method, for its microanalysis in its pharmaceutical dosage forms. Spec trophotometry has been chosen for this purpose. Acc ordingly, the aim of this work, is to study the spec trophotometric behaviour of piperazine derivatives and complexes with many reagents, so that one would be able to adopt the best conditions for a precise and accurate determination for pure drug or its dosage forms. This thesis consists of four parts. Part I. This part includes general introduction on the chemistry, methods of preparation and clinical uses of piperazine and its se.lta, also it includes a detailed presentation of the different methods of analysis for the salts under investigation. PART II, III, IV; These parts of the thes provide the experimental works done by the authoress Part II. As piperazine (heterocyclic nuclei ), in gene ral neither exhibit absorption in u.v. region nor in visible range of spectrum, this part deals with the formation of N-nitroso piperazine which has an absorbance in the u.v. region by the reaction of piperazine and its salts with nitrous acid at pH 2.3-2.6 using. |
