Abstract
Glipizide is potential oral hypoglycemic agent of the second generation sulphonlure a group. It is indicated for the control of hyperglycemia in patients with chronic type 2 diabetes mellitus. Prior reports show that glipizide has good tolerability, low incidence of hypoglycemia, and low rate of secondary failure.
Glipizide has the most rapid action and the shortest duration among the other sulphonylurea derivatives.
