Abstract

Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is one of the most ‎common operations worldwide, and its use is expected to increase. ‎Accordingly, any improvements in its efficacy and safety or any ‎decrease in its costs would have significant public health ‎repercussions.‎ ‎ The present study was aiming to compare early postoperative ‎outcome after total arterial revascularization with radial artery and ‎IMA to conventional coronary revascularization with long saphenous ‎vein and LIMA.‎ The recent multi-center ten year analysis of coronary ‎procedures concluded that the use of arterial grafting has increased ‎over time, and appears to be safe in terms of in-hospital mortality.‎ This short term study showed that, total arterial ‎revascularization with the internal mammary and radial artery is ‎associated with a low rate of perioperative complications and ‎mortality and can be safely used in bypass graft surgery with excellent ‎clinical results.‎ Long term studies are recommended to investigate and compare ‎the outcome of both methods of revascularization.‎
