Abstract

The present study was carried out on a total number of 700 camels belonged a different localities in Upper Egypt Assiut,Sohag,Aswan and El-Wady El-Gaded, the investigation was performed during different seasons and from different ages and sex. The clinical signs of Trypanosomiasis including severe emaciation, weakness, pallor mucous membrane, intermittent fever (38.5,39.8 c),lacrimation, bropping and marked reduction in the thickness of the hump. from the total number of examined camels 29 camels were positive by blood film (4.1%) while 98 camels were found positive by using thymol turbidity test (14%). The highest percentage of infection was recorded in El-Wady El-Gaded, spring season and at 4-7 years old group 15%, 16.4% and 20% respectively, Biological test was used in the diagnosis of Trypanosoma evansi infection, where 90 mice injected intraperitonially by fresh blood from clinically suspected camels, revealed that the percentage of infection 17.7%.
