Abstract Ι-Impact of Hematological Disorder on Cardiovascular System: Hemodynamic mechanisms operate to compensate for anemia. Increased cardiac output is the main hemodynamic factor, mediated by lower after load, increased preload and positive inotropic and chronotropic effects. In patients with thalassemia major, cardiac complications are a main feature of its clinical spectrum which is attributed mainly to iron over load. Because of advances in multiagent chemotherapy and radiotherapy, increasing number of individuals is surviving their malignancies. In fact, the leading cause of non cancer mortality among survivors of Hodgkin’s disease is cardiovascular disease. ΙΙ-Impact of Cardiovascular Disorder on Hematological System: In patients with cyanotic congenital heart disease erythrocytosis, thrombocytopenia, platelets function defects and coagulation factors deficiencies are the main hematologic disorders that are responsible for increased bleeding tendency. |
