Recently, there is an increased interest in developing and enhancing Higher Education in general and Colleges of Education in particular through the so-called Higher Education Enhancement Projects (HEEP). This in turn necessitates paying much attention to the teachers’ training programs so that teachers can be knowledgeable about future academia and challenges. Therefore, College of Education Enhancement draws in the first place upon the development of teachers’ training programs, teaching practice programs, teaching by using modern technology and graduate studies systems of faculty, curricula of colleges of education, and of technological structure including laboratories, equipment, apparatuses, and e-learning. These are achieved by the Faculty of Education Enhancement Project (FOEP).
Research Problem
1- What is Higher Education Enhancement Project (HEEP) in Egypt during the period of 2002 - 2007?
2- What is the status of the (FOEP) in relation to the (HEEP)?
3- What are the objectives of the (FOEP) and to what extent are they achieved?
4- How are the loans offered to utilized?
5- What are requirements for overcoming the obstacles that are facing (FOEP) in Egypt?
Research Results
1- The strategy for the Enhancement of Higher Education in Egypt, which emanated from the conference of (February 2000), singled out a project for the development of independent colleges of education within this strategy..
2- The allocation of (9) million U.S. dollars was submitted only for the technological structure of the colleges of education, and about the amount of (3) million dollars was allocated for competitive projects for the colleges of education, and about the amount of (1) million dollars only for the rest of aspects of the project.
3- The development of regulations and policies of the colleges of education is done as a pilot study in some colleges of education in preparation for the development of colleges of education in the light of the outcome of the survey.
4- Regarding the Faculty Leadership Development Project (FLDP), faculty members and their associates are committed to attend training courses to promote of their faculties positions.
5- Regard to the technological infrastructure, it was classified into three sub-themes.
6- Regarding the curriculum development and staff, development it has been misfit with the culture of our society.
7- The Colleges of Education identified their vision and mission clearly. Therefore, it would be the development of these colleges that we are to reach.
