The research contained six chapters, as follows Chapter 1: the researcher presented the research plan: introduction, problem, hypotheses, aims, importance, time and place limitations, methodology, terminology, and related studies. Chapter 2: color in modern paintingThe researcher presented color function and its psychological effects, as each color has a distinguished psychological significance. Chapter 3: color structure in some modern movements (romanticism, impressionism, fauvism) . Chapter 4: color structure in some modern movements (expressionism, surrealism, abstractism and cubism) Chapter 5: practical experiment The researcher presented theoretical introduction about artistic expression and expressiontic value. Then she presented her works she carried out to testify hypotheses and aims of the study. This was embodied in (12) paintings divided into three domains: (elastic, geometric and free domain). Chapter 6 : Results of the study were presented by showing the works that testified the hypotheses and aims of the study, then the recommendations were presented.
