Abstract This study was designed to evaluate the effect of resin based sealer as a desensitizing agent and different convergence angles (10, 20, 26 degrees) on the retention of Ni-Cr cast crowns luted with two types of cements 120 freshly extracted caries free human lower first molars were selected and aligned in a metal ring filled with self-cure acrylic resin. The molars were subjected to uniform reduction using a milling machine simulating complete crown preparation Every crown was seated on its respective tooth, each of the previously mentioned groups were divided into two equals subgroups of 20 teeth each according to using of resin based sealer or not.the following conclusions could be drawn:The use of a resin modified glass ionomer cement in combination with resin based sealer seems to be advantageous when extreme retention problem exist. |
