Abstract

The study of the petrophysical properties of both Kareem and Rudies reservoirs depending on available logging data of nine wells and nine seismic lines at Belayim Marine Oil Field , Gulf of Suez confirm the following:
• The pore throat aperture radius (r) is the most important to evaluate the petrophysical properties of the reservoir. It has been proven that the proportions of low water saturation and high resistivity did not necessarily mean the production of hydrocarbon as observed through this study and there are some ranges to water saturation of up to 30%, however, the tested positive for the production of water. In this regard, it has been shown to belong to the unproductive nano-ports type.
• Also, it has been noted the presence of minerals with high gamma ray values, such as K-Feldspar with a low-density, making it occupies the site of gas signatures on various charts. It might be interpreted shale as it includes a high proportion of gamma ray values and this leads to an error in the calculation of porosity and water saturation. This has been corrected readings for that K-feldspar and separated from the shale and gases.
