Abstract The history of cancer biochemistry has passed through many theories but the pattern of the enzymatic and biochemical imoalance in the cancer cell was made possible in part at least, by three advances: the molecular correlation concept, biologic model sys tems , and the concept of key enzymes. By the application of the molecular II correlation concept on the hepatoma spectrum and by exam- ining the key enzymes in the diffeTent metanoirc aTeas, the following conclusions are drawn, 1. The cancer cell:It is no longer feasible to talk about ”the cancer cell”, but it is more coIxluctive to achieve an unders- tanding to analyze the different degrees in the expression of the neoplastic transformation. The different degrees in the progression of biological malignancy should be measured by using a manifestation of gene expression that can characterize biological malignancy in vivo and vitro. Growth rate provides such an aspect of malignancy. 2. The biochemical pattern: It is no longer feasible to talk about ”the bio-chemical pattern’ of moplasia , but it is more conductive to achieve an insight to analyze the progressive. |
