Abstract
Methotrexate (MTX) is a strong teratogenic drug .In this study we evaluated the effect of methotrexate on development of taste buds of albino rats offspring. Material and methods 60 adult albino rats were used, males and females were caged together for matting . After pregnancy occurred the rats were divided into control group which didn’t receive MTX and study group which received MTX, then the tongue from each offspring were removed and were prepared for histological and immunohistochemical study by using protein gene product 9.5 Conclusion MTX causes delay in the development of taste buds and tongue papillae
