Abstract Two fietd experiments were performed during 1994/1995 and 1995/1996 growing seasons, at Kafer EI-Khawazim, Talkha district, Dakahlia Governorate to study the effect of nitrogen fertilizer levels and some methods of weed control as well as biological fertilization treatments on growth, yield, yield components and grain chemical composition of wheat plants (Trificum aesfivum var.Sakha 69) as well as accompanying weeds. The experiments were laid-out in a split-split plot design with four replications. The main plots were devoted to the four nitrogen tevels : 1- Unfertilized control. 3- 50 kg N/fad. 2- 25 kg N/fad. 4- 75 kg N/fad. The sub plots included four weed control treatments as follows: 1- Bromoxynil at the rate of 1 Ufad . 2- Metosulam at the rate of 0.04 Ufad. 3- Hand weeding after 35 days from sowing. 4- Unweeded (control). The sub-sub plots included biofertilizer treatments: 1-Cerialine 2-Rhizobacterine. 3-Uninoculated (control). Data for the following traits were recorded: A: Weeds Fresh and dry weights of weeds (g/m2) after SS and 75 days from sowing were determined. B: Growth characters 1.Flag leaf area (cm’), C: Yield components 1• Number of spikes 1m’. 3• Number of spikelets/spike. 5• Grains weighVspike(g). D: Yield 1• Grain yield (ardab/fad). 3• Biological yield (kg/fad). E: Chemical composition 1• Crude prolein percenlage. 3• Potassium percentage. 2• Plant height(cm). 2• Spike length(cm). 4• Number of grains/spike. 6•1 OOO•grain weight (g) . 2• Straw yield (ton/fad). 4• Harvest index %. 2• Phosphorus percentage. |
