Abstract
One hundred and eighty samples were selected to represent the Quaternary succession in five wells drilled in the Nile Delta region namely; Mahmoudiya-1 Qallin-1, Shibin El - Kom-1, Sindy-1 and Tarif-2A. Generally the Quaternary sediments in the Nile Delta area are subdivided into Bilqas and Mit Ghamr Formations of Pleistocene - Holocene age. The samples first were separately analyzed for gravel, sand, mud and carbonate contents.
