Abstract

With the growth of scientific and technological progress in a geodetic production, in particular, digital levels, reflectorless total stations and terrestrial laser scanner, and technical level of construction of cylindrical and dome structures there is a need to develop and improve the technology of measurement for monitoring deformation of these structures. The purpose of the dissertation is development and innovation of technologies for determining the structural deformation of engineering structures using highly accurate modern surveying techniques and instruments. For achieving the goal and purpose of dissertation, the following objectives will be solved: 1) To analysis the existing geodetic methods and technologies of monitoring the structural deformation of engineering structures and equipments; 2) To study the basic technical parameters of modern surveying instrument; 3) To develop the technologies of measurements for determining the structural deformation of structures including the cylindrical structures and dome; 4) To innovate the methods of analysis and modeling of geodetic observations results to predict the deformation values of engineering structures. The mathematical equations to transform the coordinates of the monitoring points on the lateral surfaces of engineering structures, which have the form of cylinder, cone and pyramids, into the plane are derived. The dissertation outlines a generalized technology for definition the geometrical parameters of structures which have the shape of cylinder, cone and pyramid. A program of observations to determine the shape and deformation of the outer and inner surfaces of dome structures is designed using reflectorless total station and terrestrial laser scanner. Recommendations to reduce the influence of vibrations effects on observations of precise digital levels and terrestrial laser scanner are also presented. The main scientific results obtained in the thesis are realized in the educational process at Siberian State Academy of Geodesy in Novosibirsk in Russia. Recommendations on the Implementation of the proposed methods for determining deformations of several engineering structures are presented to be applied in Egypt.
