Abstract
The present study was conducted at the poultry farm, Sakha Animal production Research station. Animal production research Institute, ministry of agriculture.
This study was diside to investigate the effects of some light colors ( white W. Blu B, and Red R.) during the growing ( day old until 20 weeks ) and laying ( 24-64 weeks ) periods and their interaction on egg production ab=nd egg quality of rhode island red (RIR) chicks. At day old birds were exposed to continuos light for 24 hours during the first three dayes thereafter daily lighting period was decreased by two hours every week until 8 weeks to 20 weeks of age. At 23 weeks the daily light period was increased by one hours weekly to reach 16 hours at 30 weeks and still to 64 weeks of ages.
The obtained results could be summarized as follows :
1- Effect of light color on growth performance of chicks at growing period :

Birds research under R light at the first 16 week of age were obviously heavier than the other two light. However, this effect disappeared at 20 weeks of age.
