Abstract
Oilseed rape is susceptible to several diseases that attack the other members of the family. The present investigation was carried out to study the important diseases attacking the newly introduced oilseed crops to Egypt.
:The results of the present investigation could be summarizedas follows:
1-surveying the occurring diseases during two successive seasons present (1993-94) on the entries at six governorates i.e. Demietta, Kafr El-sheikh, El-Behera, El-Giza, El-Fayoum and El-Menia. The obtained results gave evidence to presence of the following diseases :
a) while rust incited by albugo candida.
b) Alternaria leaf spot (Alternaria leaf blight ) incited by alternaria brassicae.
c) Downy mildew incited by peronospara parasitica.
d) Powdery mildew incited by Erysiphe cruciferarum.
e) Root- rot and wilt incited by fusarium maniliforme and including.
i- charcoal rot incited by Macrophomina phaseolina.
ii-Rhizoctonia rot incited by rhizoctonia solani.
