Abstract Experiments were planned to follow up the postnatal neurogenesis of cerebellar cortex both in normal and gamma irradiated mice. The pregnant females were subject to a whole body irradiation dose of 300 rad or 600 rad of gamma rays at 14th day of gestation.The biochemical analysis was performed after delivery for mothers while their newborns were kept aliver for following the postnatal development of the cerebellum. The histogenesis of the cerebellar cortex was studied using different stains; Heidenhains haematoxylin, Holm’s silver and Golgi Cox. |
