Abstract

This work was carried out at the Animal Production Department Experimental Faculty of Agriculture University
of Mansoura. The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of growth promotor (trenbolone acetate) (TBA) on daily gain; carcass characterstics. The results obtained from this study are summarized in the following. The experiment started with twenty eight lambs (male, female) were allocated in two groups. The animals used in th1c experiment consisted of two breeds, Rahmany (R) (4 males, 4 females). 0 ’; 9imi (0) (4 males, 4 females) and their recoprical crossbreds (RXO) (8 males. 4 females).
At the begining of the experiment . the age of these lambs ranged between 4-6 months. Animals of the same breed and sex were allocated randomlly to either of two groups; i treated at the start of the experiment and 60 days later with 30 mg the using subcutaneous implants while those of Group 2 were untreated. The average wieght of the treated and untreated ”group was 19.43 and 19.)6 kg, respectively at the
begining of the experiment.
The corresponding final weights were 41.46 and 10.1) kg, respecitvely. The average total increase weight of the treated and untreated group was 22.0),
20.77 With improvement (6.07%). The analysis also revealed that implantation had no significant effect
on body weight at all intervals.
