Abstract
The results of this study can be summarized as the following : I - The late Cretaceous - Early Tertiary succession in Gebel Nezzazat could be subdivided stratigraphically into the following lithostratigraphic units arranged from top to base as follows: Thebes formation : Middle Member - Lower Member - Esna Formation : (Late Maastrichtian - Early Eocene ) - Sudr Formation : (Campanian - Maastrichtian) - Matulla Formation : (Conaician - Santonian ) - Wata Formation : (Turonian) - Abu Qada Formation : (Late Cenomanian) - Raha Formation : - Mellaha Sand Member - Abu Had Member : (Early Cenomanian).
