Abstract
In this resect 533 samples (85 sites) were collected from the proper localities representing different geological periods. Four stratigraphic sections were sampled along the Nile Valley. The first section is in Qena- Esna area comprises rocks assigned ages of campanian and campanian - Maastrichtian. The second section was in the Lower Eocene Limestone of G. Gurnah at Luxor. The third and fourth sections were sampled from the Eocene Limestone at its type localities at the cliff behind the citadel and Maadi area, east of Cairo. In addition to that two sections of varigated Nubian Sandstones were sampled from G. El Minsherah and G. El Halal.
